Your Appointment

On the day of your appointment

Your appointment will usually take 1-2 hours.

For a thorough examination of your eyes we need to put drops in to dilate your pupils. This is likely to make your vision blurry for up to 3 hours. For this reason, we suggest you bring someone with you, a family member or friend, who is able to drive you home following the consultation.

For your initial appointment please bring with you:

  • A valid referral from your GP or Optometrist

  • Your Medicare card

  • Any health insurance or government pension benefits or Veterans Affairs cards

  • Your current glasses or glasses prescription

  • A list of your current medications and medical history

Your time at the clinic

Your time at the clinic will be determined by the types of tests and/or procedures that need to be performed. We understand that your time is valuable, and we will do our best to ensure you are not kept waiting unnecessarily. Occasionally there may be unexpected delays and we appreciate your understanding.

Fees & Medicare

Northeast Eye Surgeons is a private practice. All payments are settled on the day, at the completion of your consultation. We do not offer bulk billing services.

Our billing is based on the services provided. Any tests or procedures that incur extra fees will be discussed with you, including full disclosure of the costs, prior to these being performed.

A Medicare rebate will be applicable to most of your tests and procedures, which will cover part of the set fees. The Medicare rebate can be claimed through us online, with rebates sent directly to your nominated bank account.

Concessions are available to government pension card holders.

If you are not eligible for Medicare, you will not be able to claim the rebate.

Payment can be made by EFTPOS, credit card, cheque or cash. We do not accept American Express or Diners Club cards.

Cancellation Policy

Please contact our clinic as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change your appointment.

COVID 19 Policy
